Connect 4
Quite a simple activity idea – a rehash of a classic game inspired by Twitter. I can’t remember whose idea this was though (if you know please let me know and I will credit them). A really easy activity to adapt to different topics.
With a partner, select a colour each. Take it in turns to answer a question. If you can answer the question, colour in your spot. Try to get four spots in a row. First to four wins.
Exam technique
I use colour coded paragraphs to improve students essay technique, and we use the PEEL paragraph technique. Here is a slide I display when discussing essay technique.
I have tried to make exam technique ‘place mats’ that have quite a simple structure so they are easy for students to remember. I have created these for each section of the GCSE and they should be used in conjunction with the ‘PEEL your paragraph’ slide.
