What a depressing image!

StudentsIs this really the light at the end of my three-year degree course tunnel? Surely not! However, anyone who has watched the news in the last five years would believe that it is.

In the same breath, however, I am going to leave this chart here. Yes, graduates are suffering unemployment, but so is everyone else and more so.

Graduate employment figures

Chart taken from a report on ‘Graduates in the UK Labour Market 2013’, Office for National Statistics, 19 November 2013, <http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/dcp171776_337841.pdf> [accessed 9 December 2014]

Another interesting note from the same report is that there are more and more graduates every year – graduates made up 17% of the population in 1992 to 38% of the population in 2012.
